Adare Pharma Solutions Relocates Headquarters to Philadelphia, Boosting Local Economy with 115 New Jobs
Governor Josh Shapiro has announced a landmark investment to bolster Pennsylvania’s life sciences sector by supporting Adare Pharma Solutions’ relocation and expansion in Philadelphia. The Commonwealth is contributing nearly $3 million to Adare, which will invest $16.8 million to move its headquarters from New Jersey and upgrade its two existing facilities in the city. This initiative will create at least 115 new, good-paying jobs over the next three years and retain 200 existing positions, marking a significant boost to the local economy.
Adare Pharma Solutions, a global leader in contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) with a focus on oral dosage forms, is expanding its 175,000-square-foot facility at 7722 Dungan Road and its 128,000-square-foot facility at 1100 Orthodox Street. Governor Shapiro emphasized the importance of this move, stating, “It’s a testament to the flourishing life sciences industry in Philadelphia, one of the largest life sciences markets by employment and laboratory inventory nationwide.” The project is supported by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) through a variety of funding initiatives, including a $2.4 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan, a $460,000 Pennsylvania First grant, and a $100,000 workforce development grant.
This expansion aligns with Pennsylvania’s new Economic Development Strategy, which aims to reignite the state’s economy by focusing on key industries like life sciences. Adare Pharma Solutions’ CEO, Tom Sellig, praised the efforts of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia in becoming a crucial hub for life sciences companies, highlighting the region’s skilled talent pool and strategic market access. Philadelphia continues to cement its status as a globally recognized center for life sciences and biotechnology.
